See it if You like theater that is both meaniningful and entertaining. Great acting and singing, especially by Peter Dinklage. Nice music.

Don't see it if You hate theater.

See it if You are a Peter Dinklage fan. He's fun to watch and sings pretty well also (with a DEEP voice). Jasmine C-Jones (orig. Hamilton cast).

Don't see it if You want a polished show, catchy tunes (the music stinks), good staging. This is a work in progress that probably should be discarded.

See it if If you want to see great, heart felt acting and Peter Dinklage. Peter Dinklage is one of our generations greatest actors.

Don't see it if If you expect everyone to be an amazing singer. They cast actors with great acting ability over their singing. Great overall performance.

See it if You like new productions of old material with top notch performers. The music was so-so but the choreography was good and very interesting.

Don't see it if You expect all musicals to be exciting and memorable.

See it if If you're a die-hard Peter Dinklage or The National fan.

Don't see it if If you truly love Rostand's version of Cyrano. If you're looking for a musical where the songs aren't one note and lack storytelling details

Also Huge missed opportunity. This Cyrano edited out some of the most famous scenes (including Cyrano's nose monologue) that added humor and provided deeper dimension for the characters. The songs were, well, songs that reiterated character's feelings without adding to the storyline and giving the actors anywhere to go emotionally. Peter is a great actor, but not the best singer; The lyrics didn't have a classic rhyme scheme, and were hard for Dinklage to deliver. See it if If you can get a discount ticket and like the composers type of music

Don't see it if Don’t see it if you are a Peter Dinklage fan because you will be very disappointed

Also I sat right next to the soundboard and was fascinated how the engineer controlled the different voices for their songs. It’s pitiful that trained actors need to me amplified in a theater 8 rows deep.
The production is confusing with characters wearing both period and contemporary costumes. Roxanne’s chaperone has an annoying voice and delivery. If it weren’t for Dinklage the audience would have fled at intermission... Read more Read less

See it if you love The National. The music was great, most of the singers were good. A new take on an old story. Choreography of ensemble was amazing.

Don't see it if you like traditional musicals. The story had gaps. the ending seemed lackluster

See it if you're a big fan of Peter Dinklage, Blake Jenner, Jasmine Cephas Jones, or any of the rest of the cast.

Don't see it if you hope to see a truly relevant musical version of Cyrano with a good book and score.

Also I'm a Dinklage fan and was excited about seeing this. He acts the heck out of the role, but he isn't a singer. That wasn't the biggest problem, however. It was the banal lyrics that caused the biggest problem. Also, the dialogue and costuming both seemed to go back and forth between period and modern, which was confusing. Plus, we got little of the poetry that seems to woo Roxanne. It seems that lyrically, this could have been used to the writers' advantage. Quite a lost opportunity. See it if ...you're wondering what New Jersey native Peter Dinklage is up to after G.O.T.

Don't see it if ...you have limited disposal income for B'way and Off-B'way theater.

See it if you want to see Peter Dinklage's great acting and Jasmine Cephas Jones amazing performance. I thought the direction was inventive.

Don't see it if you want a happy-go-lucky musical

See it if You are a fan of Peter Dinklage. He is a talented man, both acting and singing in this performance. If you like The National.

Don't see it if If you are expecting a typical Broadway musical with happy tunes and over-the-top choruses. If you don't like The National.

Also There have been complaints about Peter Dinklage's voice but I found his voice to be very similar to the lead singer of The National, so it totally worked for me with the music.
The set pieces and background visuals were astounding and the choreography was very moving and reminiscent of tai chi.
You will not like this show if you do not like the music of The National. I thought it was beautiful, moving and quite lovely to look at.
The final scene was a little too abrupt for my taste, but that is the only thing keeping my score from being a 100.... Read more Read less
