Atlantic Theater Company presents British mentalist and illusionist Derren Brown's new show featuring mind reading and other psychological feats. More…
This theatrical experience challenges audiences to take a closer look at the stories and beliefs that guide our lives. In the UK, Derren Brown’s critically acclaimed shows have played sold-out runs in the West End and won two Olivier Awards.
See it if ..."mind reading," hypnotisim, and illusion are your thing, this show packs a wallop -- and ends with an impressive finale.
Don't see it if For the cynic-at-heart (like me) and others who have seen similar shows before, it still stands out, but at 2:40, is just too long.
See it if you like magic, mind reading, psychic ability, parlor tricks; audience participation (lots). don't go expecting a play.
Don't see it if you dislike all of the above, want to see a "real" play (this is sheer entertainment); hate or fear audience participation (there is lots).
See it if you like illusion & magic & being entertained excellent command of audience; you leave perplexed & puzzled trying to figure out what you saw
Don't see it if you expect traditional theatre not a Las Vegas type act; surprised Atlantic Theatre put this show on stage
See it if Like magic shows and mind readers.Best in first part where he gave explanations of how he did it. Second half slow but results astonish
Don't see it if If do not like mind and magic shows. Felt manipulated and that had seen versions of some of stunts several times before.
See it if you love Penn & Teller, altho they're funnier, more thought-provoking, and more honest about illusions. DB's a UK star; great op to see him.
Don't see it if you want a take-away. DB is pure entertainment; you go to be gulled. And gulled you will be, until you go home and google….
See it if you're a fan of Derren Brown or psychological manipulation/hypnotism. I felt like the only person in the audience who hadn't heard of him.
Don't see it if you are not interested in the above, hate audience participation, or are looking for narrative or truth.
See it if you want to be entertained by magical mind-reading tricks. Well done for what it is but a little disappointing from the Atlantic "Theater"
Don't see it if you're looking for "theater". This is light entertainment.
See it if You like magicians, mentalists and mind-readers or have an open mind and want to try something new. You are OK with not knowing the answers.
Don't see it if You don't like the above and don't want to give a great entertainer a chance to impress you. You don't like audience participation.
See it if You are into plotless shows that revolve around " mind reading ", " magic " tricks and.... you got the picture....
Don't see it if You don't easily fall for this kind of shows. The tricks are impressive and too good to be true but the feeling of being manipulated is real
See it if you like to be astonished and wonder "How DID he manage to do that" !! It is an exceedingly entertaining show that is almost sold out!
Don't see it if You can't get tickets or you have no attention span!
See it if you like audience interaction, you want to see something clever and well-thought-out from start to finish, you prefer mentalism to "magic"
Don't see it if you want a barrier between the performance and yourself
See it if You can get tickets. If not, I'm sorry because you are missing out on a true masterpiece of performance. Derren captivates like no other.
Don't see it if You can't get tickets, which may be likely as it's close to being sold out. There's no other reason to skip this.
See it if You like magic, illusion, funny jokes, and charming british guys.
Don't see it if you're looking for something super-serious, and you're not interested in suspending some disbelief in the service of great entertainment.
