See it if You're looking for a beautiful and traditional performance. The design was gorgeous and the band was great
Don't see it if you're looking for a big dance show or a reimagined revival. It's very traditional.
See it if You want to see a classic show with some wonderful tunes and surprisingly good choreography. Wonderful cast!
Don't see it if You are looking for something modern with celebrities.
See it if you want to see a well-realized production of an under-produces musical, performed by a top-notch ensemble cast.
Don't see it if musical revivals are not your cup of tea, or you are looking for more staging than a concert presentation can offer.
See it if You like revivals and want to see another production of Grand Hotel.
Don't see it if You are looking for an updated version of GH, exciting actors, a good production.
See it if you are a fan of the story, or want to experience a lesser-known (nowadays) show that has some brilliant moments and is always entertaining.
Don't see it if you can't divide your attention several ways at once and follow several different stories; or if you require top-notch songs and script.
See it if You love super dancing and a provocative story without a total fairy tale ending.
Don't see it if You like fully staged musicals.
See it if The most amazing dancing...especially the 2 tango dancers. Dramatic set with the opening scene of a red carpet on a grand staircase. Songs.
Don't see it if A concert type musical that doesn't have an intermission is not your type. If you do not like singing and dancing then don't go.
See it if you’ve never seen an Encores! revival, or you enjoy darker, romantic & decadent musicals reminiscent of “Cabaret” by Kander and Ebb.
Don't see it if you prefer lighter musicals, or you don’t like multi-character plots with Brechtian overtones & haunting music reminiscent of Kurt Weill.
See it if Some amazing performances (Brandon Uranowitz, James Snyder, and Heléne Yorke are the standouts), a really fun score, and amazing dancing.
Don't see it if The book and lyrics were a little weak, but it barely registered because I enjoyed the whole experience so thoroughly.
See it if You like game energetic performances in grand splendid set design
Don't see it if Music was mostly forgettable, but had its fun moments thanks to a great cast
See it if You loved The Vagina Monologues and aren't afraid of a one-woman show that touches on cancer, sex, and the struggle of women in the Congo.
Don't see it if You aren't prepared to cry, laugh, and open yourself to crazy joy and agonizing sorrow.
See it if You have an interest in Europe between the wars, good musicals and great choreography.
Don't see it if You don't like musicals, demand that all your music be melodic or don't like sad stories, although in the end it was life affirming.
See it if You care anything about ignored musicals of our past...gloriously staged with vision and clarity. A splendid revisit.
Don't see it if you need fluff and frivolity in your musicals...or big name stars...or big hit numbers!
See it if It's over now - Encores is 1 week-end only - you missed a reminder of what Musicals are all about
Don't see it if You would be bothered by a corny set-up. It is set in 1928 and characters are not real people. But you know that going in.
See it if ...you want some Broadway dazzle with a dose of arsenic -- you love first rate staging and performance -- you love that score
Don't see it if ...you want a strong story and main characters ... you like to be very familiar with the material ahead of time
