The New Victory Theater presents a story about Handa, who fills her basket with fruit for the next village, but along the way, seven stealthy animals have their own ideas about who should get these tasty treats! More…

A Kenyan girl, Handa, takes a surprise present of a basket of fruit to her friend Akeya in a neighboring village. Handa carries the basket on her head and, unknown to her, various animals help themselves to the fruits till there are none left. A mix of puppetry and gentle Swahili rhythms transports audiences to a bright, warm day in Kenya. During this playful and intimate production, adapted from the picture book by Eileen Browne, your little ones will be sure to sing and dance along!
