"This show is meant to be a fun art piece, rather a deep emotional journey. The characters and story are generic with a few surprises here and there...The manipulation of lights is its novelty...Since there is no dialogue or facial expressions, the dance sequences alone feel longer than they should. The surprising and delightful moments, however, bring us back into the piece. It’s fun to see colorful outlines of fantastical creatures painting the darkness."

"Perhaps the easiest way to describe what happens onstage would be to say that it’s like watching a live version of 'Tron'...But to reduce this show to such a simple description would be unfair, given that it is filled with a joyous energy that will make even the grumpiest person tap their feet along with their tunes...With its simple but positive message and its lively execution, this is a show that will send everyone on their way back home with a huge smile."

"The combination of the technology and the choreography makes for a stunning spectacle of a show, if not an especially coherent one...It’s distinctly possible that none of the plot will be clear, since there is only a handful of spoken sentences, and it has to compete with the constant loud thumping music...'iLuminate' belongs roughly to the same genre as 'Blue Man Group' – suited for children, people who don’t speak English, and those who seek safe, legal and loud hallucinations."

"I doubt most of the audience was much aware of the specifics of the story, since the visuals are so inventive that you have all you can do just to marvel at them and wonder how they’re being created. Bodies fly apart and reunite, heads are removed, people and props fly through the air, characters appear and disappear in an eye blink, and you only rarely catch the slightest glimpse of performers moving other actors about when they themselves are momentarily unlit."

"A delight for both kids and adults, the clever and inventive entertainment 'iLuminate' brings to mind the image of dancing graffiti…The world that’s created is unique, fun and at times amazing…Except for the phenomenal lighting transitions, its individual elements, though strong, aren’t virtuosic. Keitt and Tignor’s music, although it serves its purpose, is mostly run-of-the-mill. Yet taken together these elements generate joy, and that’s not at all a small feat."

"Beautifully using negative space and light to build the world, there is no traditional set…There is a lot of fun with lights throughout the show, often just for the sake of the trick…The story points are vague, and definitely the weakest component...The cast does a phenomenal job keeping the energy up…Expect a fun dance and lights show, good for kids and fun for adults...You’ll enjoy it more if you don’t pay full price, but it is definitely en entertaining way to spend an hour."

"Full of astounding visuals and artistic wit...The choreography may not be anything you haven’t seen before; it’s the way these artists meticulously incorporate the lighting to accent the movement and create such stunning stage pictures that make this work unique...The energetic nine-member troupe is full of expert dancers...Their unified razor-sharp work is worthy of the precision of the Radio City Rockettes…There’s something for all ages in this entertaining and colorful production."

"'iLuminate' is quite an ingenious production. The dancing, music and the lights create a story with no words – and the technological wonder of these magical light suits is pure entertainment…It truly is a spectacle and the dancers are remarkable...Truthfully, the show, with its blaring hip-hop music and dance, is probably best suited for older tweens and teens…Definitely an enjoyable hour, and worth it to see how the dancers navigate the black stage and transform themselves with the lights."
