Great singing, Great staging, Absorbing, Enchanting, Delightful

See it if You're looking for a wonderful romantic opera with great singing, staging, and costuming.

Don't see it if You want something dark, slow, and serious.

Hilarious, Great singing, Funny, Entertaining, Clever

See it if an opera romcom! lighthearted with great singing & simple plot; psychology of love playing out with a conman interloping; no one dies!

Don't see it if you don't like opera; you have trouble following foreign languages & don't want to read subtitles (read a summary of the plot beforehand)..

Great staging, Great singing, Great acting, Entertaining, Delightful

See it if you’d like to see a light and cute opera at the Met, with beautiful staging and production. A feast to one’s eyes, ears and heart.

Don't see it if you like drama and serious plots. Or prefer a more modern/contemporary aesthetic. Some scenes are really like a living renaissance painting

A perfect cast, Director bartlett sher does it again, Superbly delightful in every way, Great acting, Delightful

See it if you want to have a truly glorious experience at the Met. Brittany Rence enchants with every note. Javier Camarena pines for love with verve

Don't see it if you want to remain a misanthrope. There is nada to dislike here. A great first opera for the uninitiated.

Enchanting, Entertaining, Exquisite, Funny, Delightful

See it if Boy likes girl and tells her. Girl likes boy and pretends otherwise. A snake oil salesman brings them together on accident. It's funny af.

Don't see it if Honestly, it's the most FUN opera I've ever seen. If you need a tragic end, this won't scratch that itch, but it's fun start to finish.

"There was never a moment that dragged the entire evening...Overall this was a fine 'Elisir' that is in desperate need of a new stage director and / or production."
