About the show

A new, holiday season sendup of the iconic romantic comedy and Christmas movie "Love Actually." More…

From the show:

Love Actually? The Unauthorized Musical Parody is a hilarious brand-new musical that follows nine unique couples who attempt to tackle the idea of love during the holiday season, and even 16 years after the movie premiere, we still ask ourselves these questions every Christmas... Will Karen recover from Harry's cliché affair with his secretary? Who's this guy Mark, and why is he hitting on his best friend's wife? How do I sign up to be a "stand-in" for an adult film to find love? Do you really need to speak the same language before proposing marriage? (The answer is yes.)

Whether you love Love Actually or love to hate Love Actually or have never seen Love Actually, you will actually love this musical! Get ready for awkward meet-cutes, over-the-top grand gestures, and Mr. Bean! Oh, and lots and lots of love, actually.

Funny, Entertaining, Clever, Great singing, Hilarious

Insipid, Great singing, Disappointing, Dreadful, Excruciating

See it if You want to support someone in the cast or crew. There is some great singing of some silly throwaway songs and lots of running around.

Don't see it if You have any fond memories of the movie, this show is not clever or smart in any way and will likely just ruin the movie for you.

Banal, Silly without wit, Confusing, Unfunny farce, Sophomoric

See it if you loved the movie "Love Actually" so much that a less that vapid hackneyed farce is acceptable and a somewhat talented cast.

Don't see it if you dislike sophomoric, overly stupid farces that have little wit, nuance or satire.

Indulgent, Insipid, Banal, Disappointing

See it if you want to support a cast member. Some of the singers had lovely voices.

Don't see it if You enjoy good writing and good musicals. However, the audience kept laughing throughout the show.

Great singing, Not funny, Confusing, Disappointing

See it if I don't know who would like this bad show, this was the worst Show Score play I ever seen

Don't see it if don't see it if you think it will be funny and like the movie

"This is a show that works hard to raise the level of lunacy, but the results are scattershot. It is telling that there is an appearance by Tiny Tim, a refugee from another Christmas show. The question mark seems to suggest 'Love Actually?' does not quite know what it wants to be."

"Now, New Yorkers who know the film…have a chance to see a streamlined (at 95 minutes) musical-theatrical spoof of the film, called 'Love Actually? The Unauthorized Musical Parody.' It's a lively, silly and well-performed romp created by people who seem to have done a lot of this sort of thing."

A Theasy Best Bet. "It's been said that parody is an act of love. The show's creators prove that with a loving send up of every last detail…The six-person ensemble is perfect…a welcome opportunity to poke fun at the cheesy movie that won us over when we were at our most vulnerable."
