See it if you enjoy solo shows & are Jewish. This wouldn't play well to non-Jews, but all NYers are honorary MOTs. Poignancy of cancer and adoption.

Don't see it if broad humor annoys you. Piper is big-hearted and as her dad told her, "You're funny, kid." Not everything lands, but enough does.

See it if Monica Piper is a favorite of yours. For 80 minutes she talks about her childhood, family, dreams and life. Sometimes she's funny.

Don't see it if you are expecting hilarity or a play. The performance is monolog biography with a few very funny lines but long spaces between.

See it if you want to see one of the best one person shows ever. Monica Piper is funny, moving and creates a fascinating experience for us.

Don't see it if you don't like one person shows although I think you should make an exception for this one. Don't miss it.

See it if Going down a biographical road with a fine comedian/actress who tells hilarious and very poignant stories is for you. You are Jewish !

See it if If you're not that Jewish but would like to learn more, if you want a show that's not so much a stand up as it is a stand-out.

Don't see it if You want thigh slapping hilarity...this is much sweeter and gentler. Have no interest in Jewish culture - how is that possible?

See it if you like one woman shows, comedy, learning about the life of a professional comedian/TV show writer & surprisingly poignant endings.

See it if You want an uneventful soft mildly funny show to pass the time. You are not tired of 70's&80's new feminist bio. all too familiar

Don't see it if You expect real hilarious standup intense laughter or really funny Jewish humor ala Joan Rivers, Rodney Dangerfield, or Catskills' style.

Also Not That Jewish is Not That Funny! The one woman show is just inspired by the performer's bio. Other than uttering a few Yiddish words here & there, making a few mug expressions, & telling a few corny jokes, the entire show lacks luster and interesting storyline. It is an all too familiar story of a Baby Boomer Jewish female in the 70's & 80's being free & independent to do her own thing like most other females from every background back then. There is very little Jewish humor as we know it or newness to it.

Ms. Piper's long career as a TV sit-com writer is obvious for her written story would be much improved with a supporting cast to fill out her inadequate acting & stage presence like a TV episode rather than put this on Off Bway stage. In fact, the highlight of the show was about her single mom status adoption and still, the audience's emotional heart tug went to the unseen biological mom.
