A young Nuyorican beat maker calls out a rising pop star for ripping off his track. "Original Sound" is a fierce, funny, musical journey through the heart of an unforgiving industry.
See it if you can grab one of only 4 aisle seats. It's a good story, very well acted with lots of twists.
Don't see it if you don't want to spend your time pushing elbows and getting squished. At least 2 skirmishes broke out during the show.
See it if The woman w/the guitar & her manager, and the guy's dad, are believable & can act & sing. Nice to see the guy from the original RENT.
Don't see it if The rest of the cast does a lot of screaming and yelling, and has one-dimensional over-acting.
See it if You're interested in the musical business because that's the main focus. There's family drama that doesn't work.
Don't see it if You are uncomfortable with plays in small spaces. The seating is on three sides and about 50-60 seats total.
See it if You are into songwriting, the music business, Latin music, hiphop, character studies, family dramas, coming-of-age, sparse sets and staging
Don't see it if You expect world-class playwriting, accuracy in terms of the music business and how music artists record and create, fleshed out characters
