Disappointing, Confusing, Slow

See it if you must see everything Bedlam does, an understandable point of view, but misleading in this case.

Don't see it if you are hoping for kinetic, engaging, emotional theater, which this company is usually capable of.

See it if You love Bedlam and want to support them, hell or high water.

Don't see it if You love Bedlam and would like to keep doing so. An indulgent, embarrassing mess, overly conceptual & dead on arrival.

See it if you are a fan of the original novel and want to see an intelligent and thoughtful deconstruction of some of its more adult themes.

Don't see it if you don't know the original, are looking for a fully successful theatrical work, want clear storytelling, dislike overtly sexual material.

Also Much of this was fascinating experimentation, almost all of it represe... Read more Read less

See it if You’re looking for an experimental theatre piece & comfortable seeing a deconstructed take that doesn’t fully follow the original narrative

Don't see it if You’re a fan of the original play. You’re looking for an easy to follow adaptation of Peter Pan. This is not a family experience.

Also The rules of engagement and the structure of the play are very confusi... Read more Read less

See it if You enjoy Bedlam productions, appreciate a free-wheeling production, have a silly sense of humor, and love Peter Pan.

Don't see it if Expect a faithful adaptation of the original or need a conventional story line. Would be confusing if you didn’t know the Peter Pan story.

Also I found it just as hilarious and intriguing as other Bedlam production... Read more Read less

See it if you want to empathize with actors as they explore a text with an audience, and learn what the source material means to them on a gut level.

Don't see it if you don't like Wooster group, studio seating, The Deuce, post-modernism, surly Darlings, I Love Lucy, UNO, repetition...

Also This show diverges from Bedlam's previous work, and is a great chance ... Read more Read less

See it if you're sick to death of boring theater and you want to be inspired by great actors and design. best show I've seen in a long time

Don't see it if you liked the one with Allison Williams, but seriously it is a very hip interpretation for a sophisticated contemporary theater viewer

See it if You love Bedlam, want to laugh your butt off and appreciate unconventional adaptations. It's really sexy too! Had a great time with friends!

Don't see it if you are expecting your Grandma's Peter Pan. Meaning, the same version you've seen 500 times. This is a totally original production.

Enchanting, Edgy, Must see

See it if You love moving, hilarious, incredibly acted and out-of-the-box theatre. Every moment is rich, nuanced and gorgeously rendered. Truly unique

Don't see it if You want a traditional, Disney-like retelling of the story, or have really strict opinions on what Peter Pan "should be."

See it if You enjoy being intellectually engaged and want to see a new exciting take on an old classic. Visually beautiful and playful style.

Don't see it if You don’t like downtown theater and can’t think outside of the box. You have limited ability to connect ideas and abstract thoughts.

"This attempt is both a puzzle and a bummer — too childish to tell the story properly and too adult to access its wonder...The doubling of roles confuses from the beginning...The story noodles and wanders and just plain perplexes. Sometimes it gets pretty lewd...Presumably the actors know what’s ...

"Bedlam will be playing an anarchic game with this well-worn intellectual property, breaking it open to get at something deep within its heart. And so they do, to truly weird and wonderful effect...This 'Peter Pan' keeps us suspended, delightedly off-balance as we start to recognize truths that w...

"When it’s not sexed-up the show tilts toward being sophomoric...A freewheeling approach to a popular story about flying kids, fairies, and canine nannies isn’t out of the question. But, like the Darling tots, clarity goes missing. That’s not helped when most of the actors in the ensemble play tw...
