About the show

An immersive food and wine experience paired with the New York premiere of the stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning film. More…

From the show:

Rex Pickett’s critically acclaimed novel turned Academy Award-winning film adapted for the stage in SIDEWAYS THE EXPERIENCE. Struggling writer and wine enthusiast Miles takes his best friend, Jack, on a trip to California wine country for one last bonding adventure on the eve of Jack's wedding. SIDEWAYS THE EXPERIENCE creates an immersive (on stage) pre-show wine tasting event similar to ones discovered along the Napa Valley wine trail, as depicted in the novel and film. Gourmet food and premium wine will be served as part of the exclusive first act of this unique theatrical experience.

Needs a better director, Indulgent, Slow

See it if Act II has more drama to keep you awake (pouring wine all over yourself, gunshots when hunting, relationship drama & screaming).

Don't see it if But Act I is a huge bore & way too long. A comedy should be directed to have laughs, which aren't present. 2 hrs 35 minutes - needs big cuts

Meh, Slow, Quirky, Disappointing, Banal

See it if You love red wine and plan on drinking a tiny overpriced amount during the show. You loved the movie!

Don't see it if You’re looking for a solid comedy where you root for the characters. You Sony’s love wine.

"The story's cinematic nature works against it on stage...'Sideways' has such a strong sense of place-the movie fueled a tourism boom for California's Santa Ynez Valley-that it's shortchanged by many scenes looking similar."
