From the show:

Rex Pickett’s critically acclaimed novel turned Academy Award-winning film adapted for the stage in SIDEWAYS THE EXPERIENCE. Struggling writer and wine enthusiast Miles takes his best friend, Jack, on a trip to California wine country for one last bonding adventure on the eve of Jack's wedding. SIDEWAYS THE EXPERIENCE creates an immersive (on stage) pre-show wine tasting event similar to ones discovered along the Napa Valley wine trail, as depicted in the novel and film. Gourmet food and premium wine will be served as part of the exclusive first act of this unique theatrical experience.

Entertaining

See it if you like plays based on a movie. The 2 1/2 hour play goes along nicely with good acting and an engaging story.

Don't see it if you don't like comedy/dramas about interpersonal relationships.

Clever, Romantic, Edgy, Funny, Entertaining

See it if You like the movie and root for the underdog, who admittedly was somewhat obnoxious. Go see this show, you will nto regrete it.

Don't see it if If you can't get past a shlumpy guy winning the girl in the end.

Also This was a gem. I had seen the movie many years ago. I thought both of... Read more Read less

Romantic, Great staging, Great writing, Great acting, Entertaining

See it if you want an evening of fun entertainment. Brian Ray Norris acts really well as Miles and the other actors are convincing, too.

Don't see it if you don't approve of the concept of bachelors trips before one's marriage or you only want "serious" entertainment and no silly/funny shows.

Banal, Great staging, Funny, Entertaining

See it if Fun show. Second act was much better as the pace picked up.

Don't see it if You don't like listening to the F word A LOT!

Romantic, Great acting, Entertaining

See it if You would enjoy a live action interpretation of the movie “Sideways”.

Don't see it if You prefer shorter performances as this is 2 1/2 hours, or if you wouldn’t appreciate a live version of the “Sideways”.

Also The acting was good and staging was quite clever in this production. I... Read more Read less

Great acting, Raunchy, Entertaining

See it if Fun show with great performers. Saw the movie way back and thought this was a terrific interpretation. We needed wine at the finish.

Don't see it if More a macho male story. Drepressed writer and buddy needing to taste their sorrow away.

Needs trimming, but worth it, Great acting, Slow, Ambitious

See it if You want a light comedy faithful to the movie, even in casting. Buy a glass of wine at beginning: refills free during show!

Don't see it if You have impatience for a 2 hour plus play: definitely needs trimming.

Predictable, Fluffy, Dated

See it if Liked the film and something familiar but entertaining

Don't see it if If you want something original or thought provoking.

Intelligent, Great staging, Great acting, Funny, Clever

Don't see it if You hated the film.

Funny, Intelligent, Profound, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if you enjoy plays that go deep, that are equally funny and emotional, you like wine, you like the movie,

Don't see it if you expect it to be exactly like the movie, you don't like thought-provoking theater

Also Apparently, I learned that the show has begun gelling now and after a ... Read more Read less

Funny, Delightful, Entertaining

See it if I liked it, but I also liked the movie. The play was too long-needs better editing.

Don't see it if You don’t like shows that are too long.

Dizzying, Confusing, Banal

See it if Good acting, lots of talk about wine, and some whining from man-boys

Don't see it if you don't like wine or whining

Indulgent, Romantic, Great writing, Great staging, Great acting

See it if Divorcee and wingman unwind with women in wine-soaked Napa weekend. "This pinot is pornographically good/You have no taste, just appetite."

Don't see it if Mix of both esoteric and crude. Sad, smug, seething lead treats everyone badly.Four hrs w/ pairing experience(3 pricepoints based on intake)

Also "Get thee to a winery/I'm going to have sex with that chick, I'm not g... Read more Read less

Entertaining, Funny, Quirky

See it if You know and like the movie and/or the novel it’s based on. See it if you are straight and looking for a good date night experience.

Don't see it if You are looking for something deep or dramatic. This is fluff but good fluff.

Also A good production, well acted BUT the male lead is miscast and that is... Read more Read less
