Relevant, Thought-provoking, Great acting, Unconventional, Incongruent

See it if you like unconventional comic handling of the very serious topic of rape with excellent acting and insightful perceptions of the issue.

Don't see it if you would find that the issue of rape, being handled in a somewhat sophomoric humorous manner, distasteful.

Confusing, Disappointing, Quirky, Slow

See it if you are into black comedy/farce about how one teen raped compares the results to the Rape of the Sabine where Romans married their victims.

Don't see it if you don't think a serious subject like rape should be told as a comedic, farce and make it look like the victim is the villain..

Banal, Cliched, Disappointing, Slow

See it if you're interested in acquaintance sexual assault among teens & know little about it;you want to support the development of new plays.

Don't see it if you don't like characters who are stereotypes; you know how a grand jury works--the playwright doesn't;you prefer fully staged plays.

Also I found so much about this play confusing. Why is the memorial service... Read more Read less

See it if You want to see a new take on the well trod subject of rape. This is intelligently written, well acted and marvelously directed.

Don't see it if The subject makes you uncomfortable and you are set in the way you believe a rape victim should act.

Great lead actress, Good lighting, Overly long, Inoffensive

See it if only for the great performance by Susannah Perkins. The writing and other actors don't live up to her talent but she's very good.

Don't see it if you're expecting something edgy or thought-provoking because the comedy is played for broad laughs and isn't smartly written.

Also Arrive early to hear marching band versions of popular songs (mostly f... Read more Read less

See it if You think you won't like and don't need to be schooled on this subject. You will and you do; plus you'll be very entertained.

Don't see it if You are dealing with and still traumatized by a sexual assault incident; it might trigger a flashback.

Absorbing, Great acting, Quirky, Thought-provoking, Relevant

See it if you would like to see a play about intense subjects, presented in a way in which the message sneaks up rather than being slammed on you.

Don't see it if you can never see how humor can be used in a way to present even the most delicate of subject matter.

Also WOW. I've read other reviews vilifying the use of humor in this play. ... Read more Read less

Edgy satire, Expertly staged, Strong central performance, Irreverent look at a subject most often handled as social problem drama

See it if you are willing to look at the acceptable narratives that we construct about rape, which the title character naively and boldly rejects

Don't see it if you are put off by the idea of using satire in a seriocomic look at rape culture

Also My female companion enjoyed the production as well, though she reporte... Read more Read less

Entertaining, Funny, Great staging, Relevant

See it if very well done satire on the treatment and responses to a high school rape; Both funny and serious at times; actors were excellent

Don't see it if you are offended by a sometimes comic send up of a rape and the reactions to it. Some characters are over the top.

Clever, Edgy, Thought-provoking, Relevant, Intelligent

See it if clever social commentary; satirical, topical and funny take on a serious subject

Don't see it if first half a little slow since "the plot" is not a surprise but then play hits it stride with borderline offensive snakiness

Refreshing, Thought-provoking, Resonant, Absorbing

See it if a play about rape culture that has funny moments and is acted and directed well appeals to you. Very clever and resonant.

Don't see it if The play is very stylized and not naturalistic, which took me a while to get used to in the beginning, but once I did, I enjoyed it.

Disappointing, Slow, Way too long, Good intentions but falls short, Excruciating

See it if I can't recommend this play; I admire what it was trying to accomplish, but it was painful to sit through. Both overwrought& void of feeling

Don't see it if Skip this if you are looking for a coherent, smart play about sexual assault. This play is not that.
