Fiasco Theater brings their hallmark style and expansive imagination to one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies in Classic Stage Company's production.
Shipwrecked on the island of Illyria, Viola and her twin brother Sebastian are separated, each fearing the other lost to the sea. Viola disguises herself as a boy and wades into a complex romantic triangle with Duke Orsino and the Countess Olivia.
See it if you want bare-bone theatrics that makes Shakespeare's words accessible because they're treated with the utmost respect by the actors
Don't see it if you're not into Shakespeare's actual words, you want spectacles and massive production value
See it if You’ve never seen Twelfth Night or actively dislike Shakespeare because you think he’s “boring”
Don't see it if You’re looking for an exciting new take on the greatest of all comedies or even an exceedingly intelligent classic staging
See it if high energy Shakespearean comedy performed by amazingly talented actors delights you. Twelfth Night has terrific fools in subplots.
Don't see it if Zany and funny are not appealing for you or your party. You do not wish to brush up your Shakespeare.
See it if you like Shakespeare. There are some unique aspects to this production - the opening shipwreck was well done
Don't see it if Are hard of hearing - no hearing assistance available and the dialog can get long and lost
See it if You have loved Fiasco's other productions, but are okay with this not being as good as those. 1st act is a slog, perks up a bit in the 2nd.
Don't see it if Want unique entertaining Shakespeare. This is unremarkable with only a few interesting moments. Design a reminder of previous CSC misfire.
See it if you're a Shakespeare fan and looking for a decent production of Twelfth Night with fun acting and good music.
