The York Theatre Company revives the musical inspired by Charles M. Schulz's beloved Peanuts gang, starring a cast of talented kids who've all appeared on Broadway. More…
Spend a day with Charlie Brown and his pint-size philosopher friends, from bright, uncertain morning to starlit, hopeful evening, with lonely brown-bag lunches, kite flying failures, book reports, glee club rehearsals, and suppertime in between. For audiences of all ages.
See it if You're a fan of the show. I am not and this production does nothing to improve it in any way. The kids are great but the staging is bizarre!
Don't see it if You value your time. Not worth it. Sorry York. A swing and a miss.
See it if you want to go support these child actors.
Don't see it if you have something better to do. This isn't a great production in part because the kids are overacting and some are singing over the top too
See it if If you're looking for a musical about your favorite peanuts with simple/catchy songs, barely a plot and a very talented cast;
Don't see it if If you're looking for a story and characters to be invested in. For as fun and cute as it is, the show has barely any substance.
See it if You are enthralled with children performers, no matter what they're doing.
Don't see it if You've seen a professional production with young adults-no comparison and this one pales. Underdeveloped voices playing "Broadway" annoy you
See it if You're taking your kids and it's mainly for their entertainment.
Don't see it if You really enjoy the Peanuts world and Charlie Brown. I feel that it didn't live up to expectations.
See it if you love the Peanuts comics, or you enjoy light, silly songs.
Don't see it if small children being played by adults annoys you, or the absence of a plot is uninteresting to you.
See it if you're a fan of talented child actors, who've been wonderful in other shows, and the winsome piece itself. But it's flatly directed.
Don't see it if you agree that kids are a bad fit for a show written from an older POV. They don't share Schulz' dry wit & just do as they've been told.
See it if Want to see a basic children's theater production . No adults in the show, no sets, no dances. My 10 yr old son liked it, found it funny.
Don't see it if You want a plot. This is just a series of comic strips, which is cute, but I wouldn't see it again. Hard to see from our seats, row J.
