“Hands down, Patrick Thomas McCarthy has written a slam-dunk retelling of Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night’...The members of the ensemble cast uniformly deliver well-developed outrageous characters...Director Patrick Aran keeps the antics moving along; however, there is room for a quicker pace at times to keep the farce from bogging down...This would tighten the play a bit and make it even more engaging and entertaining.” Full Review
See it if You enjoy talented actors enjoying themselves on stage. It's a little over the top, but I believe it's very much on purpose, just not my jam
Don't see it if You don't like LGBTQ stories, don't like over the top stories/acting, don't like mediocre scripts, don't like freezing cold theaters.
See it if You enjoy a good mistaken identity farce with plenty of sexual innuendo. You support the LGBTQ community and smaller productions.
Don't see it if You are looking for a highs scale production with an expensive set and wardrobe.
See it if This attempt at theater of the ridiculous is largely frantic and unfunny. Some good moments. I've seen a lot better. Sorry
Don't see it if I'm hoping for better in other shows at the Fresh Fruit Festival
See it if you know someone in the cast and came to scream with forced glee as many in the audience I saw did.
Don't see it if You know and appreciate true camp exaggeration for true comic effect and satire. This wasn't it.
See it if you're up for a farcical LGBQT Shakespeare adaptation with a hyped up community theater energy. Clever script, big goofy performances.
Don't see it if A little long & location is remote but I really didn't mind. Haters on here should have read the description before accepting the invite.
See it if You're easily amused. There are a few chuckles here but they really make you wait for them. The actors do their best with what they've got.
Don't see it if You expect any sort of Shakespeare or anything even remotely close to it. It's a cute idea that just isn't written/directed very well.
See it if You have liked a Charles Mee play;maybe the first draft of one he wrote in grammar school: you feel like being silly; Actors are terrific
Don't see it if You hate raunchy; you did not know it has an LGBTQ theme;soap opera overacting makes you cringe; Play is way too long 2 1/4 hours
See it if Such a lovely space for such a bad play. 1 surprisingly good actress, 1 campy but competent actor. Use of sparse set pieces was well done.
Don't see it if don't have a high tolerance for badly written absurd farces. 1 HOUR TOO LONG! Painfully repetitive dialogue. The intermission is your escape
