Absorbing, Entertaining, Great writing, Great acting

See it if an excellent production of a minor classic; well acted period piece; a play about love and jealousy

Don't see it if its a small community center; get there early and sit up front, limited visibility in back rows

Ambitious, Entertaining, Great staging, Great acting, Great writing

See it if You want to see a good play done very well with no frills. In the basement of an apartment building you've got to be good, and they were!

Don't see it if You have to have a big production. They do a lot with a little, the set was impressive, but you're in a basement and you know it.

Entertaining, Uneven, Lacking diversity, Enjoyable

See it if You are interested in a high-level community-theateresque performance of a fun and interesting show. Some of the acting is quite good.

Don't see it if You expect an out-of-the-box interpretation or a diverse cast based on the location of the theatre. The show was competent but predictable.

Great acting, Truly abysmal sightlines, Extraordinarily good considering the venue

See it if you live uptown, you like Russian literature and you want hard evidence of how much talent abounds in every nook and cranny of this city.

Don't see it if you'll be annoyed by not being able to see much of anything even though it's a tiny venue and you're in the 4th row. One word: risers. Read more

Entertaining, Quirky

See it if you want an exploration of love and marriage with some fun moments of laughter.

Don't see it if you're looking for a fancy production - it's in a basement space (though they use it well).
