Non-stop musical numbers, Holiday hilarity, High energy cast, Raunchy, Super fun puns

See it if need a cozy LOL mood boost for the holidays. Funny writing & acting with raunchy entertaining songs 1 after another. Never a dull moment.

Don't see it if not into shoestring budget shows, small venue or raunchy holiday theme. But this small show is big in LMAO entertainment, music & fun puns!

Edgy, Great singing, Funny, Entertaining, Clever

See it if you want to kick off the holidays with a fun show, with some good writing and an energetic cast singing some familiar tunes w/new words.

Don't see it if you do not like mixing sappy violence with your enjoyment of the holidays. It fades a bit and wears on you a little even though only 90 mins

Energetic, Raunchy, Quirky, Cliched, Ambitious

See it if You bring an open mind and sense of humour to support an enthusiastic young cast in an original and creative (albeit messy) new musical

Don't see it if You find more annoyance than amusement in a string of tired 80s references presented as "jokes". You expect more slashing than silliness. Read more

Quirky, Raunchy, Great singing, Funny, Clever

See it if a very well sung, original funny show. U won't mind a sophomoric plot, way too many tree jokes and repetitive sight gags.

Don't see it if Raunchier than I expected. Partly because the opening night crowd was VERY loud, it was impossible to hear some of the lyrics. It was trite

Quirky, Confusing, Creative

See it if A fun Xmas alternative with potential in future iterations. Come in pre-gamed.

Don't see it if Props, staging, choreography improvement will take the show to a different level. Some scenes were confusing and chaotic right now.

"Despite its fairy-tale plot, Axemas isn’t really suitable for children because of language and sexual situations, but everyone else will find something amusing in this rag-taggle production. 'An Axemas Story' could use some tightening and more professional looking scenery, but it’s tongue-in-cheek fun, nevertheless. The score is beautifully played under the musical direction of Sara Linger and the keyboard expertise of Buck McDaniel."

“Directed and choreographed by Mackenna Goodrich, the show moves along at a rapid-fire pace, so that everyone - can be done in 85 minutes...Is there an actual moral to this musical? Find out for yourself in the hysterically silly and highly entertaining ‘An Axemas Story’.”

“...’Axemas Story’ is an anti-holiday musical. It zings Christianity without being offensive and manages, in 18 zany musical numbers, to present a point-of-view rarely addressed in holiday shows...’An Axemas Story’ is geared to those who prefer naughty to nice and want to spice up the season with a healthy dollop of irreverence.”

“The production boasts some pleasingly splattery moments, and there are as many 80s references as puns, adding extra fun for those who catch them, as well as a good dose of metatheatrical comedy. The cast is marvelous, with almost everyone playing multiple roles...The songs, ranging from rock- or synth-inflected numbers to ballads, are both hilarious and memorable, terrifically complemented by Mackenna Goodrich's expressive and entertaining choreography.”
