HERE presents a new devised theater piece about Jewish women in America exploring their relationship to their Judaism. More…
The project is an interdisciplinary work that uses performance as a way to interrogate Jewish identity today by looking to the past and confronting the future. A group of six female-identified artists explore their personal history to present a collage of varied perspectives on what it means to be perennially in-between: in the intersection of tradition and modernity, power, and oppression.
See it if You enjoy non-linear plays. The title accurately describes the play. It is threads of plot and dialogue trying to knit a whole.
Don't see it if If you prefer plots that have a beginning, middle and end. This skips all over the place and is hard to follow. Musician drowns out voices !
See it if you would like to see a noble, yet unsuccessful, panorama of Jewish women through history.
Don't see it if you wish to see a well crafted projecting the challenges of Jewish Women through history.
See it if you are interested in hearing about the experiences of a group of modern, Jewish women who have devised a play from their personal stories.
Don't see it if You want a coherent, linear story or a show that offers depth of perception abt what their Judaism means to them. Sorry, I wanted to like it
