"As metaphysical conjectures go, it sounds like the kind of blow-your-mind thesis a teenager might come up with after too much weed and too little sleep. But it turns out to be a fine taking-off point for a 75-minute exercise that subverts our faith in fixed identities through simple but sly theatrical devices...The preoccupations that trouble Deb are universal, extending even to our fears of the loss of what defines us when we die."
