About the show

Theater for the New City presents the story of Mina and Lina, a refugee couple from the Balkans traveling through the galaxy in search of a planet to call home. More…

Told as a post-apocalyptic, sci-fi fairy tale and combining absurdist comedy, irony, and suspense, Domnica Radulescu's play touches on hot-button issues currently affecting our world. The play’s poetic action and language; the courage, intelligence, and sass of its two protagonists; and the array of characters they encounter on their journey create an engaging landscape that's as troubling as it is comforting.

Disappointing, Entertaining, Excruciating, Absorbing, Slow

Confusing, Excruciating, Indulgent, Mind-numbing, Original

See it if Don't...just don't. I have never left a play early, ever, until this one. Insipid, self indulgent, exhausting, cringe worthy, over the top.

Don't see it if Don't...just don't. Good actors mixed with bad actors, but this play could not be saved.

Disappointing, Excruciating, Indulgent

See it if You are interested in a clever new angle about the important issues of exiles and immigrants - no matter how poorly executed.

Don't see it if You dislike poor, didactic and repetitive writing

Disappointing, Excruciating, Raunchy

See it if If there is nothing else to do...I just did not get it.

Don't see it if You have anything else to do

Banal, Confusing, Excruciating, Indulgent, Insipid

See it if you're looking for campy sci-fi B-movie fare. The actors seemed to have trouble remembering the lines, which to be fair, were poorly written

Don't see it if you want a coherent plot, characters, or story. You don't want to hang out in a basement (literally) all evening. You want good writing

Disappointing, Excruciating, Bad, Slow

See it if you really like weird theatre and can push through most of it being bad.

Don't see it if you need some solid strength in your plays, be it acting, writing, score, story, whatever. There were moments of good but mostly bad.

Slow, Disappointing, Quirky, Indulgent, Cliched

See it if You're really into sci-fi and can overcome clichéd communication of a valid underlying message. I must say some of the actors were very good

Don't see it if You don't like too many dramatic devices being used, and overused

Disappointing, Cliched, Indulgent

See it if You really like odd experimental theater. It's a bit like a Jerry Cornelius novel except without the same skill provided by Moorcoock

Don't see it if You want any kind of a conventional experience.

Disappointing, Excruciating, Slow, Raunchy, Original

See it if You like bad scripts and bad acting.

Don't see it if You like good theater.

Confusing, Excruciating, Insipid, Annoying

See it if This could be one of the worst shows that I have seen. Both myself and my guest could not wait to exit. Terrible writing, plot and acting.

Don't see it if I like sci-fi and thought it sounded like a funny show but there was absolutely nothing redeeming about this show.

“With just seven cast members and modest stage props, the story was still told without limitation. As a member of the audience, I was taken to another place...Director Andreas Robertz...does a great job embracing a diversity of voices in this production, with an openness to taking a risk and tryi...
