About the show

August Strindberg Rep presents the English-language premiere of Danish writer Stig Dalager's mysterious play within a play for three actors. More…

The audience enters a room where two actors and a director are working on a play. But are they rehearsing? Are they performing? Or are they not actors and a director at all? Is it the present, the past, or in the future? An examination of the playwriting process with echoes of Strindberg and Pirandello, 'Journey in Light and Shadow' is a 'Twilight Zone'-like experience where the audience is challenged to guess what is real, what is a play, and whether the characters' scars can ever be healed. Presented in rotating repertory with 'Marty's Shadow.'
