Must see, Hilarious, Entertaining, Clever

See it if you want to laugh; you like theatre that doesn't take itself too seriously; you can get a ticket to the show's return engagement

Don't see it if you strongly dislike self-referential, absurdist comedy; you want a more traditional show and not a solo show

See it if You love Kate Berlant. I went in blind just hearing of rave reviews. She is brilliant, nuanced funny and creative. Was totally wowed by her.

Don't see it if You don't like edgy, satire or absurdist comedy. Never seen anything like it, in a good way. Grab a ticket if you can. You won't regret it.

"The show, which runs long at eighty minutes, starts to sag with repetition, and the clever concept yields diminishing returns."

"She ultimately bookends the show as the custodian, who reminds us of something 'he' and Berlant have in common... The ingenuity, comedy, and artistry on display in 'Kate' reminds me why I believe that, too."

" 'Kate' does rely on a singular comedic focal point — a self-absorbed actor with delusions of grandeur, desperately trying to keep her show on track."
