See it if You want to step outside on the balcony during a party to take in the view. Lots of interesting people to meet & stories to be to be told.

Don't see it if You need a fully developed plot or don’t find the humor in 2 actors taking on a vast variety of roles.

Also I loved the quirkiness and humor of all the different partygoers played by the wonderful 2 actors. I also appreciated the other 2 actors who rooted us while we watched their relationship develop. It's a story for everyone in the next phase of their life. See it if you enjoy light dramas about the challenges finding a connection to others in mid-life. Well acted.

Don't see it if the problems of middle aged Wasps bore you and you don't like wordy plays.

See it if You like old time comedy and wonderful performances.

Don't see it if If you are looking for a thought provoking show!

See it if you are a fan of a story that takes place in 1993 with vapid characters who have no chemistry. It is slow-moving, with jokes that fall flat.

Don't see it if you expect to either laugh or cry after watching a romantic comedy. It does not seem believable. The ending was disappointing.

Also The set was beautiful. The lighting was exquisite and very romantic.

See it if you like A.R.Gurney.

See it if you're a fan of AR Gurney. It's of a specific time and place within Gurney's universe but still entertaining.

Don't see it if you're expecting profound insights and don't enjoy light romantic comedies.

See it if You enjoy romantic stories about characters in their twilight years. Supporting actors are hilarious & worth the ticket to see.

See it if You enjoyed skilled, veteran actors and A.R. Gurney's writing

Don't see it if You don't like ambiguous endings and somewhat and unexpected character turns

See it if you are a dyed in the wool Gurney fan. Over 50 and yearn for a lost love. You long for a period play that appears to be contemporary.

Don't see it if you want a clear conclusion. you want clearly drawn characters.

Also The production is beautiful, however this lesser play by Gurney is not. There are few clear motivations that guide the plot and a sudden ending that comes out of nowhere.

The gimmick of this play is that all of the guests at the party, save the two protagonists, are all played by the same two actors. And while the whirlwind of costume changes, wig changes, accents and affectations is humorous, the constant barrage distracts from the central thrust of the play, and the arc of the central couple's relationship. Jodie Markell , as Sally (and others,) was far more successful than Liam Craig as Jim (& others) but that lies in writing as his characters tended to be more broadly drawn cartoons.

Ruth (Barbara Garrick) was not terribly endearing, and for me, the stakes of this long separated couple, was not as high as it could have been when a late in the play, off-stage phone call changes her goals and actions and is not as devastating to the audience as it has the potential to be.... Read more Read less
