About the show

Locked in the Attic Productions brings back this evening of one-act plays by Seanie Sugrue exploring the question of whether love is dead. For mature audiences only. More…

Act 1: 'The Apple and the Tree!' drags through the meager life of Trevor. A young man burdened with the seemingly impossible task of convincing his relations that he has been raped—by two women.

Act 2: 'Two Minute Kenneth!' follows a seemingly incompatible couple as they resort to violence to solve their conflict.

Act 3: 'My Goldfish Loves Me but I Hate Your Guts!' ambles recklessly through a sinuous account of the life and misery of Maggie, an unhinged prostitute looking for retribution.

Intense, Great acting, Brutal, Entertaining, Edgy

See it if you like "in-your-face" staging - both literally and not. It's small venue adds to the intensity of the experience as if you're part of it.

Don't see it if small venues is too close for your comfort & if Queens is too far for comfort. The show/cast/plot make it all worth checking Secret Theater

Disappointing, Quirky, Raunchy

See it if You like silly, far fetched nonsense but with decent acting

Don't see it if You like drama, musicals or just want a realistic storyline.

Very smart integration of the 3 sepperate plays

See it if you appreciate the absurdity of love, and if you like a troupe and theater that are in your face, and will even offer you a big beer.

Don't see it if you want a big lavish musical, or don't like leaving Manhattan Island.

"It's a violent little play full of gallows humor, misogynistic cracks, and rambling word games that go on for too long and yet, there is something to it. 'Love Is Dead!' gave a rough premiere tonight at The Secret Theatre. Beneath its plodding pace, one thing is clear: the work is a modern-day p...

“This brand of warped humor walks a fine line between inappropriate and hilarious, and Sugrue is extremely skilled at balancing right on that line…The lives of these oddballs are woven together in an extremely clever way, but for some actors, the writing serves as a crutch.
