About the show

Set in a local bar, in this interactive, improvisational, theatre experience the bartender and six improv actors embedded in the crowd create an evening of entertainment. Featuring a live musical guest at every performance. More…

A different show every night, the audience is guided through the evening by the bartender who facilitates a comic and topical conversation based on the makeup of the audience. Because any good bar thrives on the live performances of talented musicians, 'Joe’s' has featured unique musical performances during each show – culling from local talent as well as nationally recognized bands.

See it if You want to be immersed in an audience interactive event. Subject matter is up in the air. An hour and a half of precious wasted time.

Don't see it if You are not into audience interactive shows!

Banal, Disappointing, Interesting idea, Good $5 beer

See it if you like awkward comedy that plays on people's insecurities, overstated. You like the platonic ideal of bar conversations.

Don't see it if you'd like the conversation to be particularly interesting or deep. Actor-improved spontaneous group conversation sounds great. This isn't.

See it if - You want happy hour prices at a very expensive bar.

Don't see it if - You want to participate in a dialogue about real things. - You don't like performers planted in the audience. (They are among you!)

See it if you need to entertain your "Uncle Chad" from Nebraska who thinks the idea of men waxing their body hair is height of hilarity.

Don't see it if you ever have interesting discussions with your friends in real life, and you know what honest, intelligent banter is supposed to sound like

Also They started the show by asking for a "brave volunteer who thinks they... Read more Read less

“Performance art is reinvented over a cheese-bacon burger or beer...The bar with striking colored windows and beautiful wooded portals never really heats up. In fact, the improvisation has a loose format; it’s is so light, you almost don’t know it’s happening. There are no strong gestures until S...
