About the Show

This musical tells the story of a high school where everyone is pop punk, it's always 2003, and there's never been anything cooler than shredding, pizza, and flipping off your lame-ass parents.

Derek, a young wannabe pop-punk frontman, wants nothing more than to become king of Pop Punk High and win Amanda Bunkface's angsty, straight-ironed love. It seems all but impossible for a loser like Derek, but when he finds a bong in his attic containing the ghost/genie of Avril Lavigne, his wildest dreams may become reality after all. 'Pop Punk High' features a score reminiscent of blink-182 and Sum 41, and a book full of obscene humor.

See it if Loud rock musicals about the millennium generation would interest you. A club-like atmosphere would be fun for you.

Don't see it if don't like loud, pop punk music or standing for long periods. The show technically starts about 20 mins after the scheduled time.

See it if Upbeat and angsty teens express themselves to a pop-rock beat. Opening act. Perhaps a nice appetizer to some bad behaviours in The Village

Don't see it if Volume turned up. General admission ticketing as standing is compulsory. Why is the setting a club when the actors are portraying teens?

Don't see it if You do t want to stand for an hour, dislike loud music, or want a genuine piece of theatrical magic (this is not that).

See it if you like the music, and it is loud for most of the show, along with a good/fun story that is energetically played and sung by a good cast.

Don't see it if you cannot stand loud rock music - there was even a warm up band of loud music that delayed the star of the show about 30 minutes.

See it if This show is now closed. If you grew up in the early 2000s you would have loved the style and references.
