One night while working the graveyard shift at a roller disco in Marfa, TX, Donna and Colby are smacked with a surprise: The Apocalypse! A new dark comedy, performed entirely on roller skates.
Skating through a honky tonk disco fugue, the ladies are left to figure out who they are, what it all means, and if anything even matters at all. "Roller Dynasty" celebrates friendship, disco music, and the end of the world.
See it if U long for days of disco & roller skates, want 2 B consumed with millenial ennui, want 2 C versatile Tony Jenkins, U R recent college grad
Don't see it if no use 4 millennial angst, allergic to sandstorms, hate licking up blood, want a tame version of what could be very funny
See it if you're open to a slight morality-themed romp, great funky disco music (before during & after), & campy roller-skating, re: the apocalypse.
Don't see it if you prefer epic musicals & are expecting to see another version of 'Starlight Express' or 'Xanadu' (both also slight morality-themed romps).
See it if You're into roller skating and disco music - Tony Jenkins & the disco divas were great. The storyline had potential but just didn't make it.
Don't see it if You're looking for Starlight Express. This had some interesting moments, but too much whining.
See it if You like disco and plays with time jumps but no clear answers that are maybe about the end of the world but maybe not.
Don't see it if You need clear answers (there are none here), a linear storyline, or hate disco.
See it if You know the cast members or creative team or just really like seeing original work, good or bad.
Don't see it if You can't (or don't want to) walk up and down three flights of stairs; you are expecting a plot or any sort of cohesive narrative.
See it if You want to see a fun little show with roller skating! Funky music and I enjoyed some of the quirky writing, funny actors!
Don't see it if Don’t expect to see enormous depth but it’s fun, actors give a very low stakes performance so it’s hard to get behind the characters
See it if You know any of the actors or the team and they’d like you to see it.
Don't see it if You have no connection to the show. I was just so happy when it was over.
See it if You like disco music & roller skating. Those were the best things about the show.
Don't see it if You don't like disco music & roller skating. The rest of the show didn't make much sense.
See it if You're in the mood for a Beckett-style show performed by a young company, with everyone on roller skates!
Don't see it if You're expecting a zany romp. This one gets existential even with the roller disco setting
See it if You want to see something a little different. Most of the show done on roller skates. Tony Jenkins shout out for his numerous personas.
Don't see it if you like a straight line story. This actual starts at the end & goes back in time, although not very clearly.
