See it if
You want to support an awesome youth theater company with a very talented ensemble. You are looking for a family show geared towards Tweens.
Don't see it if
You are looking for a youth-musical with a message. This is essentially a light divertissement with some very well crafted lyrics.

"Boys, boys, boys!" -Sleepover
Sleepover is full of tween joys and anxieties, great songs, and a cast brimming with talent.
The cast is excellent. Naomi De Leon is delightfully awkward as new-girl-in-town Simone, and her voice is excellent. Simon Ostrower, as machiavellian little brother Tal, is perfect.
The ensemble singing is wonderful, and the harmonies are air-tight.
Where the show is lacking is in the construction of the piece. There is no payoff to the main conflict of the show. It's repeated many times that Mia, the evening's host, has invited too many guests against the wishes of her father. The children scream, throw a dance party, and never face what is clearly set up to be a conflict in the show.
It's also very much a throwback, written in the 90's and by today's starts is almost aggressively hetero-normative.
Tada! is a wonderful company filled with talent and the cast of Sleepover has made me excited to check out what the rest of Tada's season has in store!... Read more Read less
