Uneven and repetitive, Interesting use of space, Disappointing, Confusing, Quirky

See it if you are open to a work that needs refinement - there are some good moments of interaction with actors and the space is interesting.

Don't see it if you expect a rewarding immersion experience - it's a lot of moving around when it gets going and the sounds drown out the actors quite often

During previews
Confusing, Edgy, Highly dramatic, Interesting venue, Well intentioned cast

See it if you enjoy interactive performances. The actors work hard to engage the audience. The space is interesting. The chicken wings are delicious.

Don't see it if you expect a complex theatrical experience. The first hour was mostly drinks and food. The remaining time was mostly dramatic poetryreadings

See it if you like to be able to explore a play, like strong imagery and don't a mind some confusion and an unclear narrative or finale.

Don't see it if you just want to sit and watch, don't enjoy interacting with actors and role playing slightly. Are not interested in Poe.

Interesting, Great acting, Disappointing, Ambitious

See it if Monologue driven theatrical experience on your feet, following actors from space to space in search of the play.

Don't see it if You are a theatre traditionalist who wants to sit and be entertained. You are looking for a plot driven story that has a decisive ending.

Also Seen in preview, there is time for the production to find its volume l... Read more Read less

Entertaining, Disappointing, Confusing, Cliched, Banal

See it if you think the future is in the interactive theater. If you like being close and personal to feel your vis-à-vis joy and angst.

Don't see it if You'd rather have a 4th wall in the theater. If you expect Poe's theme - he's just used as pretext.

Also Actors are game and give it all to make you feel... I've actually have... Read more Read less

See it if Perhaps, if you are in the younger generation, you may enjoy it. Thought we should learn more about Poe, but it was not a part of this play

Don't see it if If you want to sit in a seat and watch a play, do not bother. Being inter-active did not elevate the performance. it was not believable.

See it if you love Poe, but have only read two or three of his poems. You NEED to see every immersive event in NYC.

Don't see it if You want a story, not just a series of ghostly possessions. You want an immersive experience where the audience is more than a bystander.

Also There were lots of interesting ideas here, as well as a great, enthusi... Read more Read less

"An immersive psychological thriller kills with a stellar visual and audio design, but lacks coherence in the narrative. The participants are cast as the new members of The Poe Society and are invited to follow the characters through the labyrinth of Underground."

"As for the show, it may be 'the only story-driven, multi-room immersive experience in the heart of Times Square,' but as written by Nate Raven it is very thin on information about 19th century writer Poe…it is mainly participation in a séance…which is neither spooky nor scary."
