Quirky, Edgy, Confusing, Absorbing, Intense

See it if you like to discover obscurer Williams plays and missed recent productions of this one.

Don't see it if it's been a hot few days. The production turns the A/C off and hands out fans and water.

Great staging, Quirky, Slow, Non linear

See it if you follow Williams play and would like to see his take on Avant Garde theater a la Beckett

Don't see it if you prefer his linear plot style of writing with resolution and conflict etc.

Absorbing, Great acting, Ambitious, Confusing, Uncomfortably warm

See it if You want to see a seldom seen Tennessee Williams play. Acting is fantastic. Direction is as interesting as the play itself.

Don't see it if You want a show that spoon feeds you. This is odd and quirky and at times intense but seldom clear in its message till you see the entirety.

Dizzying, Ambitious, Well acted, Edgy, Thought-provoking

See it if you like experimental theater. This is NOT Glass Menagerie. There are moments of TW poetry and insight, but also strange absurdist content.

Don't see it if you want full comprehension. Lots to chew on, but no clarity. Theater is hot (hand-fans noisy). Ironically, the play's set in a cold place. Read more

Clever, Great acting, Confusing, Slow

See it if you know this play specifically or are interested in seeing the writing in this phase of Williams more in the line of Becket than realism.

Don't see it if you want to see a linear plot, or are expecting a direction that will help you keep your attention through a difficult but beautiful text.

Great acting, Great direction, Long!

See it if The two actors are wonderful. Unfortunately the script is repetitive and needs trimming. Think Pinter meets Pirandello.

Don't see it if Room has 2 air conditioners which are turned off at the show's beginning. Gets really hot, making 1:40 run time feel very long.

For the true aficianado only

See it if You love William and want to see everything, even the less-than-best later works. If you know his life, this really becomes more vibrant.

Don't see it if You can't abide the vicissitudes of playgoing in the East Village on a hot summer night. But what better atmosphere for a Williams play?

Sweltering, Obscure, Non-linear, Perverse, Repetitive

See it if a Southern Gothic spin on Samuel Beckett -- with three pretend audience members reacting on stage -- piques your interest.

Don't see it if air-conditioning is a necessity, not a luxury, for you and/or you saw the Amanda Plummer revival of this one a few years back.
