About the show

In this moment of political and environmental turmoil, AMERINDA (American Indian Artists) Inc. reimagines Shakespeare's multi-generational romance as Native artists. More…

What if in the next generation we return to traditional ways, take care of the earth, and make the world better? In this production directed by Madeline Sayet (Mohegan), an all-Native cast comes together to explore what is passed down and how to restore a broken cycle. Through Shakespeare's text we set off on a journey that asks what the rules of our time are and should be.

Disappointing, Simply staged, Well acted

See it if you enjoy well spoken Shakespeare. The actors make the words clear in sound and meaning.

Don't see it if you expect a Native American adaption. The text is pure Shakespeare. The stage set is a few vertical light bars.

Enchanting, Refreshing, Romantic, Clever, Delightful

See it if you love Shakespeare and want to see a well acted, well embodied piece where the clowns are brilliant and the original music is superb

Don't see it if you want something edgy or political or you are looking for a fast re-imagined re-cut Shakespeare -- this is charming and great for kids too
