About the show

Hudson Warehouse presents a pay-what-you-can, outdoor production of Shakespeare's bloodiest work; the story of a general who is engaged in a cycle of revenge with the Queen of the Goths. More…

The play is set during the latter days of the Roman Empire; Titus, a Roman general, returns to Rome after a victorious campaign against the Goths. In tow as captives are Tamora and her sons—one of whom, Alarbus, is sacrificed by Titus. Meanwhile, Saturninus, the newly declared emperor, is feuding with his younger brother, Bassianus, over Titus' daughter Lavinia. Saturninus is later seduced by the captive Queen Tamora. Tamora, all the while, plots with her Moorish lover, Aaron, against Titus. With 14 deaths, brutal rape scenes, mutilation and cannibalism, Shakespeare’s 'Titus Andronicus' is not one for the fainthearted.
