Don't see it if you don't
See it if If you want a very enjoyable experience on Broadway - it's funny, insightful, up to the minute and great. Hayes is super terrific.
Don't see it if If you're expecting an extravaganza with a cast of thousands....orrrr, forget that, just go see it.
See it if You want a thoroughly entertaining 90 minutes of theater which will make your face hurt from smiling and because Sean Hayes is a pip as God.
Don't see it if You have no sense of humor about religion and your medical insurance isn't paid up in case you hurt yourself laughing.
See it if Saw it twice...if you want to have a great time at a show..God says see it.
Don't see it if If you don't want to laugh
See it if you want a fun (and impressively thought-provoking) night out at the theater
Don't see it if you're easily offended, or one-man shows scare you
See it if you loved Sean Hayes on Will & Grace and enjoy exploring/mocking Christianity. That's right, this ones for you, Queen.
Don't see it if you can't laugh at religion or if you're a right wing bigot. For the first time in American history, God in a liberal democrat. #blessed
See it if you like funny jokes
Don't see it if you're really into religion and sean hayes making fun of religion will make you sad
See it if You like to laugh. You are a fan of Sean Hayes. You like short shows with no intermission. You want an easy ticket to get. You're openminded
Don't see it if You have no sense of humor. You have very strict religious beliefs and would be even slightly offended by the questioning of the word of God
"This time around God is in the body of Emmy Award winner Sean Hayes, with mostly heavenly results...Sean Hayes as God is more sarcastic, delivers the dialogue with more of an edge and, well, does at times seem like Jack McFarland as our Heavenly Father...Worth a second look, even if you caught it last year with Parsons...Besides Hayes, the other true star is the clever script by David Javerbaum...Joe Mantello has a fine gift for extracting the best from his actors who engage in monologues."

"This appearance is really more of a tease, an occasion for sketch comedy rather than prophetic drama...Is this what passes for a hit Broadway comedy these days? Are we really expected to take any of this theology seriously?...But of course there's nothing wrong with light diversion, especially when served with Hayes' eye-brow-arched flair...It's about time someone took politicians and sports heroes to task for vainly invoking His name in victory."

"Hayes injects his blasé, carefree personality into God to great effect...Under Joe Mantello's sturdy hand, Hayes is hilarious as he fills the gaps with reckless abandon on just about every topic...'An Act of God', a One-God Show has the ring of Vegas. It should play there to great acclaim. Go and enjoy the irreverent and insightful proceedings! It's high on entertainment."

"I suppose it was time for someone to play God again...I found pleasure and a little food for thought in his reprimands, perceptions, and gags. I'm not sure how it would play in the Bible Belt. Sean Hayes portrays God as a campy character; in fact, Hayes out-camps the character...The script is up-to-date for current news, and God gets a few jabs in at Donald Trump and Ted Cruz."

"An uproarious virtually one-man show...Hayes approaches his divine role with a kind of intelligent petulance that only occasionally verges on shtick...The script is very funny indeed, with a higher proportion of punchline hits to misses than you might expect of a routine built on studied irreverence...It seems there really are rimshots in heaven."

"The comedy is everything we were expecting - and more...Hayes is so magnetic...This show has been revamped and feels so fresh! The laughter is nonstop, but underneath the humor are some very serious truths about mankind and why we do what we do. See, on the surface the show might seem like it's about God, but it's really about us. And, if you go see this, you will be thoroughly entertained!"

"And let it be known, the gospel according to Hayes is a hoot. Granted it may not be a heavenly comedy per se, but it's certainly an amusing romp...God knows where Hayes gets his campy zeal but it's irresistible...But at some point the scripture shtick gets old...God knows the show is a rather lightweight affair and it would be even better at 70 minutes instead of 90, but if you are in dire need of a laugh (and who isn't?), this may be the answer to your prayers."

"Under director Joe Mantello, the whole thing is more of a costumed lecture than a standard play. But it works...It is very funny. Hayes is terrific...I thoroughly suggest going to see 'An Act of God'. It’s worth it just to watch Sean Hayes do what he does so well, but it is also a chance to hear with great humor an alternative to the narrow conservative dogma which has so divided this nation."
