About the Show

Part of FringeNYC: Stu runs a towing company. It's not much, but it's something. Then Wendy, an old high school crush, reappears. Her idiot husband drained the car battery, and she needs a jump. Watch out. Sparks fly.

Quirky, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if you enjoy watching the complexities of human attraction play out in front of you. Or if you want to be surprised by impromptu dance numbers

Don't see it if you're bothered by infidelity.

Resonant

See it if you like warm-hearted dramas and don't mind that it is at times a little contrived.

Don't see it if you are very demanding (though the acting is good and it is well-constructed and in most respects believable).

Thought-provoking, Intelligent, Absorbing, Funny, Great acting

See it if You enjoy strong acting and theater that presents complicated humanity in all its limitations and hopes.

Don't see it if You're mainly a fan of "action" and lots of plot twists and turns. The action here, while compelling, is mainly psychological.

Theatre is Easy
August 15th, 2016

“The acting in this piece is stellar. All three are adept comics who keep us laughing and engaged...Director Gama Valle stages this production nicely amidst a simple set designed by Elisha Nameri...Valle’s direction of this piece is tight; the one unfortunate choice is the scene transition music, which is repetitive and difficult to listen to...The show’s pace also feels a bit slow towards the end, but these are minor blips in an otherwise solid production.”

Theatre Reviews Limited

"A play where characters do not change but merely adapt...There are no surprises and everything is predictable...It is a flat tire with no dramatic arc. The cast does an admirable job in trying to overcome the obstacles of the script, creating believable flawed characters but fall short when trying to give them an emotional transfusion, though no fault of their own. The direction by Gama Valle is somewhat stagnant and fractured by very short scenes severed by the same repetitious music."

Theater In The Now
August 17th, 2016

"Finding the point of 'Jump It' is a bit difficult. The story isn't refreshing or new. Everything you think would happen does. Each character was dealing with so many things at once that none of it was fleshed out and meaningful. Finding one particular woe will help flesh out these individuals...Valle helped the company find beats of comedy...Sadly the characters in 'Jump It' ended exactly where they started. It was a blip in their lives that could easily be erased."
