The Washington Post

"Exuberance, thy musical name is 'She Loves Me'. The melodies of this 1963 show sound as sweet and richly evocative as ever in director Scott Ellis’s pleasurable new Broadway revival...The chemistry between Benanti and Levi stops somewhere short of magnetic...Still, Ellis, Carlyle, Rockwell and company succeed at much the same task as the harried employees of Mr. Maraczek’s store: wrapping up things in beautiful packages, to the delight of the excited customers."

"A musical doesn’t have to be perfect to delight. Cutting-edge is overrated, too: Just give us well-crafted material and a starry cast that knows exactly what it’s doing...Laura Benanti and Zachary Levi shine brightly as a classic rom-com couple...The pair have such a natural rapport that it’s impossible not to root for their characters. But then the entire cast of this spry production is flawless. Bock and Harnick give us frothy songs that are built to last under their cotton-candy exterior."

Entertainment Weekly

"'She Loves Me' is likely to charm lovers of traditional musicals and rom-coms alike...With lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Bock, 'She Loves Me' has an impressive musical pedigree. But the songs themselves aren’t earworms and some are a bit dated...'She Loves Me' is like many other romantic comedies — predictable and sometimes silly, but sweet and funny enough that you won’t mind traveling to an ending you see coming from a million miles away."

"I dare you to find a flaw in 'She Loves Me'...The first-rate score, full of inventive multi-character sequences and revealing solos, all neatly integrated into the book, is universally adored by musical theater aficionados...Benanti scores a homerun as the hopeful but staunch Amalia, and the same can be said about Krakowski...Levi is likable but underwhelming as the affable clerk Georg, but that hardly matters. The overall impact of this winning production leaves you teary-eyed and overjoyed."

"About as consummate as a musical can be...You are guaranteed to fall in love with this most charming of musical gems…Scott Ellis is at the helm again staging the intimate work with romantic fluency and comic nuance. Of course, it helps to have a cast the likes of this bravura company…Maraczek's may only sell perfumes and fancy creams, but there is a magical alchemy that is taking place on that stage and it is aimed right at our not-so-lonely hearts."

"Pushing theatrical boundaries is all well and good, but there's no shame in coloring inside the lines when the finished product is as vibrant as Roundabout Theatre Company's latest revival of 'She Loves Me'...Anyone with a pulse will enjoy watching Laura Benanti and Zachary Levi fall in love...Scott Ellis directs the revival in this winsome spirit of Broadway's Golden Age."

"Mostly everything goes right in Scott Ellis' production...The authors have conjured up a chamber operetta full of quiet charms...I still find the first act a little calculated in its charms and a tad precious in its sensibility; however, the second act pays off delightfully and throughout it remains a blessedly civilized entertainment...Ellis has assembled a nearly ideal company...'She Loves Me' is good fun for grownups, a sip of surprisingly dry champagne."

Talkin' Broadway

"'She Loves Me' is pure sterling. There's not a thing that's tired or overly tested here, and Ellis has approached the material with the sparkling eye and the mischievous nature of a man who has plenty to say...For the most part the cast is so in step with him and his candy-coated worldview, it's all but impossible to tell they're not creating their characters from scratch...Bathing in perfection is its own reward most of the time; you'll be thrilled at the prospect of drowning in it."
