Peggy Sawyer is a young performer who arrives in New York City in the 1930s with dreams of making it big on Broadway. When the leading lady of a new musical falls ill, Peggy gets her chance to step into the spotlight and prove herself. Despite facing tough competition and some tough breaks, Peggy rises to the occasion, impressing everyone with her incredible talent and determination.
