A Place for Me? is a family musical set in 1950, telling the Windrush story through the eyes of a young girl. Ten-year-old Phyllis from Jamaica adores Essex and is thrilled to learn that her favorite uncle, who traveled on the HMT Empire Windrush in 1948, now lives there. Accompanied by her mongoose friend Mony, Phyllis sets off to explore the vibrant world of Tilbury, England. This musical honors the contributions of the Windrush community to Essex and will be performed at various community venues in Harold Hill, Orchard Village, Rainham, and Romford with Havering Changing.
