A woman fights to protect what matters most in Gurpreet Kaur Bhatti's new play.
Baby follows a woman determined to survive despite the odds stacked against her. Known only as Baby, she has endured hardship and wants only to hold on to Bliss, but a devastating obstacle stands in her way. As she searches for a solution, she turns directly to those around her, placing motherhood, survival, and the criminal justice system at the centre of the story.
The play is written by Gurpreet Kaur Bhatti (Behzti, A Kind of People, Scenes from Lost Mothers) and directed by Milli Bhatia (Blue Mist, King Troll (The Fawn)). Produced by Brixton House and Clean Break, the production continues Clean Break's longstanding commitment to developing theatre that centres women's experiences, particularly those affected by the criminal justice system.
The creative team includes set and costume designer Khadija Raza, lighting designer Bethany Gupwell, sound designer Elena Peña, casting director Nadine Rennie CDG, and assistant stage manager Hester Blindell.
