Based on the life of the 19th-century showman P.T. Barnum, the musical follows his rise from humble beginnings to international fame as the creator of spectacular entertainments. Alongside his wife Charity, Barnum pursues ever more ambitious ventures while balancing personal relationships, public success, and the changing fortunes of his career.

The musical features a book by Mark Bramble, music by Cy Coleman, and lyrics by Michael Stewart. This production is directed by Jonathan O'Boyle and choreography by Oti Mabuse.

This touring revival combines musical theatre with live circus performance, featuring an ensemble of more than 20 actor-musicians, acrobats, and circus artists. The score includes songs such as "Join the Circus," "Colours of My Life," "Come Follow the Band," and "Love Makes Such Fools of Us All," alongside staging inspired by the spectacle of Barnum's famous exhibitions.
