Thomas lives alone, works from home, and shares his thoughts with Clive—a cactus. He has built a carefully curated life inside his flat, distanced from the unpredictability of the outside world. But as deadlines loom and memories stir, Thomas begins to lose his grip. What starts as routine quickly spirals into a surreal and deeply personal reckoning with loneliness, identity, and the illusions we build to cope.

This new one-person play comes from Olivier and BAFTA award-winning playwright Michael Wynne (The Priory, My Summer of Love), known for his sharp, character-driven writing. The production is helmed by Lucy Bailey (Witness for the Prosecution, Titus Andronicus), whose direction has been praised for its bold visual language and psychological depth. Her ongoing collaboration with Paul Keating brings added resonance to the staging.

Keating, reuniting with Bailey after acclaimed performances in Kenny Morgan and Murder on the Orient Express, takes on the role of Thomas. His performance anchors the play’s exploration of isolation in a post-pandemic world, blending dark humor with emotional precision. The minimalist staging and solo format offer a focused lens on one man’s unraveling inner world in a society increasingly mediated by screens and silence.
