Insurance salesman and a married woman plot murder and fraud in 1930s Los Angeles — lust, deceit and betrayal unfold on stage.
In 1930s Los Angeles, a modest insurance salesman, Walter Huff, prided himself on spotting scams — until he met Phyllis Nirdlinger, a dangerously alluring woman seeking to cash in her husband’s life-insurance policy. Fuelled by lust and greed, the two weave a plan: murder her husband, trigger the double indemnity clause, and escape unscathed. But as guilt and mistrust grow, their carefully laid scheme begins to unravel, forcing Walter and Phyllis into a deadly battle of wills.
This production is adapted from James M. Cain’s classic crime novel by playwright Tom Holloway, and directed by Oscar Toeman.
