Based on Raymond Briggs' classic illustrated character, Father Christmas follows Santa as he wakes from a dream of sun and sand only to find that Christmas Eve — the busiest day of his year — has arrived. The production traces his preparations for the night ahead, from feeding his reindeer to loading his deliveries and finally taking flight into the winter sky.

A co-production between the Lyric and Olivier Award-nominated Pins & Needles Productions, the show returns to the Lyric for another season as an established fixture of the venue's family Christmas programme.
