Fox is a one-woman play inspired by true events that examines the challenges of new motherhood in a society that can feel increasingly isolating. The story is told through the voice of a woman who now finds herself called only “Mum” or “Mummy,” struggling with identity, exhaustion, and the shifting meaning of “help.” With sharp observation and emotional honesty, the piece explores postnatal depression, the pressure of expectations, and the complexities of asking for and giving support.

The work is written and performed by Katie Louisa Morgan, who first staged the play at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it was noted for its nuance and emotional insight. Direction is by Offie Award nominee Lisa Cagnacci (Credible Likeable Superstar Role Model), who brings her experience with contemporary solo drama to this intimate production.

This staging is presented by Carbon Theatre and Becky Barber in association with Park Theatre. Supported with public funding from Arts Council England, the production also offers special parent-and-baby performances, ensuring accessibility for audiences navigating early parenthood.
