Set in Wigan in the early 2000s, (God Save My) Northern Soul follows 19-year-old Nicole, a mixed-race teenager stumbling through the murky waters of adulthood after the sudden death of her mother. Working part-time at River Island and dodging the responsibilities life keeps hurtling her way, Nicole unexpectedly inherits a house, a BMW, and her family’s sandwich shop.
Written and performed by Natasha Cottriall, this one-woman dark comedy explores grief, identity, and coming-of-age in a working-class northern town. The production is presented by Toby Parsons Productions in association with Park Theatre.
