About the Show

David Johns' adaptation of the Palme d'Or-winning movie about a man navigating the welfare system after a heart attack.

Dan is a typical working-class guy - a carpenter by trade & a Geordie by birth - who is resting after suffering a heart attack.

Katie has just arrived from London looking for a fresh start for herself & her kids in their new council house.

'I, Daniel Blake' takes a glimpse at the lives of the over 14.5 million people living in poverty in the UK, and how people come together in the face of adversity.

This stage adaptation of the Palme d'Or & BAFTA Award-winning movie of the same name has been adapted by Dave Johns who played Daniel Blake in the 2016 film.

This production is recommended for ages 14+.

See it if you care about social issues - shows the government's disregard for those barely attempting to exist, draining them of their dignity.
