A poet and a seamstress fall in love as illness and poverty shadow their bohemian circle.
Rodolfo, a struggling poet, meets Mimì, a seamstress, and the two quickly fall in love. He introduces her to his friends—Marcello, Colline, and Schaunard—who share a life of art and poverty in Paris. At Café Momus, Marcello encounters his former lover, Musetta, and old passions are rekindled. The joy of newfound love and friendship is soon overshadowed when Rodolfo discovers that Mimì is gravely ill, casting uncertainty over their future together.
