About the Show

A Parisian courtesan’s love is tested by sacrifice, family duty, and fading health.

After recovering from illness and returning to Parisian society, the courtesan Violetta meets Alfredo, a young man whose devotion persuades her to leave behind her former life and live with him in the countryside. Their happiness is interrupted when Alfredo’s father arrives, urging her to give up the relationship for the sake of his family’s honor. As Violetta’s health deteriorates once more, the consequences of her choice prove irreversible.
