Set in Norway in the 16th century, Lady Inger, the wife of a wealthy landowner, becomes disillusioned with her life of luxury and begins to question the strict social norms & conventions of the time. She becomes involved in a conspiracy to help the poor and oppressed and finds herself at odds with her husband and the corrupt local officials. Through her journey, Lady Inger learns about the importance of standing up for one's beliefs and the power of personal freedom.
