Flabbergast Theatre's first narrative text-based production based on Shakespeare's tragedy.
Flabbergast Theatre is exploring Shakespeare's 'Macbeth' through the mediums of puppetry, live music, clowning, masks, and physical theatre. By drawing out the parallels between the original text & the modern world, this production examines what it meant to be a man, what it meant to be a woman, and the social contracts drawn up between the two sexes.
“Despite lofty intentions and clear passion for the material and for all manners of performance, this Macbeth will likely prove divisive...Flabbergast's The ‘Tragedy of Macbeth’ is bold, striking, and unfortunately too overwrought for my tastes.”
"This version of 'Macbeth'; visceral, often exciting and confusing, with a skilled and committed cast. It’s truly remarkable in many ways, but for some, perhaps not necessarily for the right reasons."
